We are inspired by the vision that it is our job as a society to nurture and support the creative minds of children in order to allow their ideas and imaginations to grow for a prosperous future. Through the collaboration of professional artists including musicians, dancers, painters, textile artists, sculptors, filmmakers, storytellers, spoken word artists and arts educators, we explore big ideas and rich topics in STEAM, SOCIAL JUSTICE and WELLBEING inside the classroom, reaching thousands of children each year in Toronto schools. We are committed to providing an inclusive and balanced approach to arts education that considers the individual child, the world around us, and the art discipline integrated with other learning.

Art in all its disciplines is the primary focus of each Inner City Angels experience. We are committed to utilizing the arts to promote wellbeing (happiness) and build social intelligence inspired by positive psychology. Inner City Angels artists integrate these strengths with rich topics on STEAM and SOCIAL JUSTICE to empower students for a challenging future.

We design and deliver our interdisciplinary arts programs in consultation with artists, classroom teachers, scientists, medical students and specialists in child and adolescent psychology. Artists often work in teams in the classroom. Inner City Angels places a premium on artist development and so mentoring opportunities are integrated in the classroom visit.
