Our mission is to be a trusted partner building successful families in our community by providing a safe, supportive place where children and youth and families experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, develop positive relationships and build confidence and skills of life.

Our Story What We Do

For over 60 years the Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough have been providing programs and services in our community for children, youth and their families.

The Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough evolved from an organization established in 1956 as the Scarborough Police Youth Club. The agency became a Boys Club in 1961 and a Boys & Girls Club in 1978. From 1956-1982, the agency functioned as a community outreach program.

A ten year capital fundraising campaign, together with the assistance of the former City of Scarborough, enabled the establishment a 13,000 sq ft permanent facility at 100 Galloway Road. In 2011, to keep up with the demand of for more space to accommodate more participants, we were happy to create almost 9,000 sq. ft. including a recording studio, partial second floor and a new gym.

In 1998 the club served a primarily recreational function. Since that time the agency has pursued a determined approach towards providing accessible quality early childhood development and educational programming through subsidized childcare, Ontario Early Years Centres, special needs consultation, afterschool and camp programs for children 6-13 years and many youth programs that support their development in leadership, education, careers, health and wellness and so much more.

The Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough seeks to provide neighbourhood solutions to identified community and social needs through our over 20 locations throughout the community. We provide a holistic approach to our prevention mandate. We address all facets of child, youth and family development through a continuum of service.
